Stylish Cafés in Marrakesh

I would like to recommend two of my favorite cafés that I actually visited in my Marrakesh trip. These two cafés are very popular among locals with high sense of interiors and delicious cuisine.

Other than local cuisines, you can enjoy hamburgers, sandwiches, snacks, and deserts too. Due to their religion, a lot of restaurants and cafés can not serve alcohols but you can enjoy some booze in these two cafés.

le Jadin

In French, “le Jardinmeans “garden”. Just like its name, this café welcomes guests with full of plants and green interiors. It was very relaxing with all the plants in this café after a nice walk through the dry Marrakesh.

This café is located in the old city, Medina. Because it is a little bit far away from the Jemaa el-Fnaa, it is more calm and full of greens, just like an “Oasis”. It also didn’t feel that far since I was exploring around the Souk area and made my way to “le Jardin”.

Even the birds are green and cute. There are seats inside and outside patio. When the weather is good, I recommend seating outside.

Mint Tea at the patio seat. I am obsessed with this Mint Tea since I got to Marrakesh. I have seen a lot of locals drinking Mint Tea during my Marrakesh trip. Usually, Japanese Mint Tea has no sugar so I was surprised with Marrakesh’s Mint Tea being so sweet!

This is because, when you put sugar inside Mint Tea it prevents from heatstroke and refreshes body. I felt strange when I tired Marrakesh’s Mint Tea at first but, the more I tasted it, now I am obsessed. When you visit Marrakesh, I definitely recommend trying their Mint Tea.

Spontaneously, I took some photos of this stylish Arabian little mirrors decorated near the doorway.

NOMADis a café located near the old town Medina’s Souk spice plaza.

It is a very popular café so make sure you make a reservation if going during lunch time! Fortunately, I made a reservation beforehand so I was fine. However, since the place was full with the reserved seats, those who did not was waiting for a long time inside when it was hot. Reservation is definitely necessary during lunch time!

By the way, there should not be any line during the café time.

I think one of the reasons why it is popular is because you can see a full view of the spice plaza from this “NOMAD” café. And the food is great! I ordered Nomad Couscous. It was refreshing and matches Japanese tastes.
